What is alternative grading? What does it look like in a course? Is it all-or-nothing, or can instructors start small with this practice? In this session, our panelists will address these questions and share their own experiences of incorporating flexible forms of assessment and grading into their courses. Other topics we will explore in this session include:
- How does it support student learning and clarify/support our goals as instructors?
- How does it motivate students and give them agency in their learning?
- How does it impact faculty? How do students respond?
- Is it equitable?
