Power Up Your Assignment Grading in Brightspace!

Join us for this hands-on workshop on grading assignments as we explore providing efficient, timely and detailed feedback to students. You’ll have the opportunity to practice grading assignments in Brightspace, using the annotation tool, rubrics and descriptive feedback in an active working session.
We will begin by giving you an overview of different types of feedback, grading workflows, and grading with a rubric. Then we will model using the assignment grading functions, before having you try your hand at grading using the various tools. Throughout the workshop you will learn tips to manage grading on your own or with your TA team.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Manage the grading process for assignments within Brightspace
- Grade using the assignment tool
- Identify best practices for providing feedback
- Grade an assignment using a Brightspace Rubric
Note: Sample assignments will be provided for practice grading in the workshop.
No grading experience is necessary to attend this workshop; however, you’ll need a basic working knowledge of the assignment tool in Brightspace. You are welcome to review the Assignments and Rubrics workshop video before attending.
