Putting Your Course on the Map: Designing Courses that Align with Your Program’s Learning Outcomes

December 8, 2021 at 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM

Cost:Free

Course design and planning are often independent and solitary experiences. It can be challenging to consider how a course fits into the larger curriculum of an academic program.

This workshop will teach simple techniques for course design to help you reflect on the relationship between your course and the broader learning goals of your department and discipline. Through problem-focused instruction and hands-on activities, you will learn how to design courses that more effectively serve your department’s programs and students.

This workshop will be especially relevant to course instructors who teach required courses, or courses that are integral to a specific academic program. All participants will receive tool-kit to help them implement the strategies discussed.

Facilitators: Morgan Rooney, Teaching and Learning Services, and Andy Thompson, Office of the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President (Academic)

The session will be recorded.
