Invitation to Join Faculty Reading Group with Kahente Horn-Miller
We invite you to join a faculty reading group led by Dr. Kahente Horn-Miller to explore A Mind Spread Out on the Ground by Alicia Elliott, a powerful meditation on trauma, legacy, and systemic oppression in North America. This national bestseller delves into Elliott’s personal experiences as a Haudenosaunee writer, touching on topics such as intergenerational trauma, mental health, racism, and the ongoing impact of colonialism.
Through Elliott’s candid narrative, we’ll engage in discussions that bridge the personal with the political, uncovering insights on representation, resilience, and the path to a more just future.
The reading group will meet three times during the Winter term to discuss, reflect and learn. We will arrange times that suit all participants where possible. There will be opportunities to participate in person and online.
TLS will be provide books to all registered participants.
