I had the privilege of supervising Andrew Pietras’s HRP during his 4th academic year. His work involved complex questions about the legitimacy and viability of international law examined through lenses of legal and political theory as well as the study of international relations. The quality of his work was exceptional. The second reader and I agreed that Andrew’s work was of a far higher standard than typical work produced by other undergraduates. Indeed, we also agreed that Andrew’s work was comparable to that of an exceptional graduate student so that Andrew might consider developing the HRP for publication. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Andrew and to bear witness to his intellect, as well as his professionalism and character. Andrew is a shining star.
