Two Wins for Carleton Students at the 2026 CACSMA Awards
Two Carleton University students have been recognized by the Canadian Association for Composite Structures and Materials (CACSMA) with prestigious student awards in 2026.
Dr. Peyman Shabani received the Timotei Centea Memorial Award for Best PhD Thesis for his dissertation, “Virtual Testing of Aerospace Composite Laminates: Impact and Fatigue.” The award recognizes outstanding doctoral dissertations completed at Canadian institutions in the field of composites and closely related areas.
Aurora Pilkington was also recognized with a CACSMA Undergraduate Award, which honours outstanding undergraduate work in composite design, research, manufacturing, and testing.
These two awards highlight the achievements of Carleton students at both the undergraduate and doctoral levels and reflect the university’s strong contributions to research and education in composite structures and materials.
Congratulations to Peyman and Aurora on their achievements!
