Sarah completed her BEng (2017) and PhD (2023) in Mechanical Engineering at Carleton University. Her thesis project focused on a novel mechanical system that collected and stored passive solar energy in homes with large windows. After graduating, Sarah joined the Housing and Buildings team at NRCan’s CanmetENERGY-Ottawa campus as a Research Engineer. During her time with NRCan, Sarah was involved with the team’s efforts on energy transition planning for Canada’s remote communities as well as establishing design and policy best practices to promote thermal resilience in residential buildings. Recently, Sarah has joined the Department of National Defence as a Deputy Project Manager to support F35 infrastructure project delivery as part of NORAD modernization.
