March 6 to 12, 2023 is Social Work Week in Ontario! The Ontario Association of Social Workers’ 2023 campaign theme of #MobilizingMentalHealth speaks to the diverse roles that social workers play in mobilizing mental health access for Ontarians, from providing critical support to navigating complicated health, mental health, and social services systems.
Engage online with this year’s campaign by using the hashtags #MobilizingMentalHealth and #SocialWorkIsEssential, and take part in the month’s Mental Health Mondays, a series of online workshops including a free event exploring social work leadership on March 20, 2023 (events listed below).
Other ways you can get involved are by attending local events celebrating Social Work Week and Month, building your own poster through CASW’s website, and by emailing your MPP to share how we can work together to increase access to vital mental health supports in the systems and settings Ontarians engage with every day. Message your MPP through OASW’s mobilizer tool, linked here.
