Genevieve worked in the private sector for an international management consulting firm for 12 years. During her undergrad in Belgium, she worked at a community centre for expats and volunteered for their 24hr crisis line. After her Masters, Genevieve switched to the public service where she then worked in 3 levels of government over the next 10 years.

She initially started the PhD program to become a stronger advocate for her autistic children’s rights, and has enjoyed learning about accessibility issues in Canada. Her research interests include:

  • Barriers to access education support
  • Gaps in post adoption support
  • Barriers to access health services for autistic people
  • Barriers to access healthcare for trans people
  • The intersection of autism and gender diversity
