Melissa Bridle, MSW, RSW, is an experienced social worker and educator with over two decades of professional experience in the areas of intimate partner violence and community mental health. Melissa is currently a Program Manager with the Canadian Mental Health Association, leading the Youth in Transition Team for youth experiencing symptoms of serious mental illness, substance mis-use, and/or homelessness.  She also manages an Intensive Case Management Team.  A key focus of her role is the provision of clinical supervision and consultation.

Melissa was previously the Manager of Adult and Youth Services with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa, where her she provided counselling to women and youth experiencing criminalization, as well as oversaw new program development. Melissa started her career in her home of northern BC, counselling children who witnessed abuse as well as working with vulnerable youth.

Melissa joined Carleton University’s School of Social Work as a Contract Instructor in the winter of 2023, bringing her wealth of practical experience and theoretical knowledge to the classroom.

Melissa’s key areas of interest are:

  • Clinical supervision;
  • Supporting frontline workers in the Toxic Drug Crisis;
  • Working  with survivors of intimate partner violence.

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science, University of Victoria (2002).
