About Me:
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto in 2010, specializing in mental health and healthcare. I have spent the majority of my career working in a variety of healthcare settings such as emergency rooms, infectious disease units, and substance use with concurrent disorders. Since 2018, I have focused on psychotherapy for adolescents and recently progress into leadership roles.
My Research:
My research investigates the dynamics of helping and harm in psychiatry, with a specialized focus on adolescents experiencing complex trauma. I am particularly interested in complex and intergenerational trauma, utilizing grounded theory and mixed methods to explore their impacts and enhance therapeutic effectiveness. Outside of my professional endeavors, I find joy in playing music, rollercoasters and ice cream with my kids and husband, and being on any boat, at anytime.
