Wanda Romaniec brings to this role thirty-five years of experience in health and social services, including community social work practice, management and leadership positions and social work education.

Her positions have included Co-ordinator of Immigrant Services, Community Developer, Health Promotor, Program Director of a community health centre Parent-Child Program and Manager of a city-wide Diabetes Education Program. She has also concurrently held contract positions to teach Social Work courses at Carleton University since 2002. She was an instructor for Social Work Practice in Communities and Organizations from 2002 to 2006. She has been a Faculty Liaison since 2007 for both the BSW and MSW Programs. She retired from full-time work in 2021 and maintained her connection with the Carleton University School of Social Work.

Wanda graduated with her MSW and a Graduate Diploma in Social Policy from Wilfrid Laurier University. She also has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo. She has volunteer experience as a board member for small organizations, reviewing grant applications for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and teaching group fitness for the YMCA. She is currently actively involved as a Volunteer Peer Reviewer for the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA), which offers accreditation tailored to community-based health and social services founded on recognized best practices in governance, leadership and programming.
