Employee and Other Permit Options
Carleton University Employees are guaranteed parking permits based on location availability.
Parking Services and the Sustainability Carleton team encourage students to explore commuting alternatives such as walking, cycling, public transit, ride sharing, carpooling, or permit sharing.
Only vehicles with valid Carleton University parking permits are permitted to park in designated permit-only parking areas from 0700h to 2230h (7:00am to 10:30pm) Monday through Sunday. Anyone with a campus parking permit requiring later or overnight parking may only do so in accordance with the After Hours parking options.
Effective May 1st, 2017, Parking Services switched to virtual parking permits – no physical hangtags will be mailed/need to be displayed – your up-to-date vehicle information (licence plate details) in your ParkAdmin profile is your permit.
How to Purchase a Parking Permit
- Create an account or login at carleton.parkadmin.com
- Ensure that your most recent vehicle has been added to your profile and is set to “Active”.
- Contact Parking Services to determine available parking locations. If you choose payroll deduction, the permit will be added to your profile by the Customer Service Representative.
- If you are not eligible for Payroll deduction (full-time continuing and term employees of 1 year or more only) your selected permit will be sent to checkout for alternative payment.
- Once your payment is complete, the permit will be valid for the designated period of time.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your parking permit, contact Parking Services.
Special HotSpot Permit for Employees
To support flexible work arrangements, Parking Services is pleased to offer employees a special daily parking option. A pay-per use daily parking rate of $7 through the HotSpot Mobile App – will now be available in parking Lot 5B (that faces Bronson Ave., and is south of Stadium Way) and the P18 Parking Garage (by Lot 6).
In order to exercise this option, existing parking permit holders need to cancel their permit and new permit holders need to set up a parking profile. Please contact Parking Services to subscribe or to obtain further information. Subscribers will receive a special code from Parking Services to use with the HotSpot app. Subscribers will need to download the HotSpot app on their cellphone (or similar device) and validate their parking on each occasion. HotSpot membership is no longer required to use the HotSpot App to park at Carleton University.
Note:
Daily Parking Validation for the Employee Hotspot Permit uses the same Hotspot APP as campus visitor parking. The only difference is instead of entering the four digit Hotspot Lot code displayed in each lot, Staff/Faculty Hotspot Permit Holders must enter the special four digit code provided with your Hotspot Permit Confirmation email.
Here are detailed HotSpot App download, setup and use instructions available for reference.
