What do I need to do to make sure I have a parking spot in 2024?
Parking Services will be in contact with all P9 permit holders in spring 2024 to ask for your choice of new parking lot. All P9 permit holders will have a choice of either P18 (covered parking) or P7 (surface lot parking) – both located at the north end of campus. You may put your name on one alternative waitlist prior to May 2024. On May 1, 2024, your permit will be transferred to the P18 Parking Garage, or P7 depending on your choice. The P9 Parking garage was built in 1969. It will be 55 years old in 2024. The garage has been continually assessed and monitored by WSP (Williams Sale Partnership) Engineers since 2012. Engineering reports in 2020 called for its decommissioning in May 2024. This is supported by the continued maintenance requirements since then. The Board of Governors approved the demolition plan at its April 2023 meeting.
